She has been registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa since 2006. She is also an accredited member of the South African Society of Physiotherapy.
In her ten years’ experience she has worked with both in- and out-patients of the SANDF, at the Air Force Base Langebaanweg, South African Air Force (2007), Alta Smit Physiotherapy unit based at N1 City Hospital (2008-2009), as well as the Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital (2009-2010). In 2010 though, she made the bold decision to start her own private practice.
She believes in providing a caring and effective physiotherapy service. Her human-centered approach to her work, combined with her passion and technical skill, has lead to her professional and business success. Seeing people healed, living happy and whole lives, is what she thrives on.
Her physiotherapy skills cover a broad spectrum of conditions including: neurological, respiratory conditions, strokes, sport injuries, neuro-musculoskeletal strain injuries, cardiopulmonary, rehabilitation, paediatrics, geriatrics, manipulative therapy, electrotherapy modalities, lymph oedema management and pre-and-post natal conditions.
Joy loves outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. She travels occasionally for leisure and learning, and also fancies herself an accomplished squash player and soon-to-be-accomplished golfer.
